Ravinder Chaudhary from Chandigarh appointed Deputy Chef de Mission for Hangzhou Asian Games 2022

Ravinder Chaudhary, a prominent figure in Indian athletics and the secretary of the Athletic Federation of India (AFI), has been assigned the role of Deputy Chef de Mission for the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games 2022. This appointment comes as the games are set to take place next month after being postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Indian contingent for these games consists of a total of 850 athletes. Notably, Chaudhary has previously managed the Indian athletics team at prestigious sporting events such as the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and Asian Games.

Chandigarh Golf League's second season

The eagerly awaited second season of the Chandigarh Golf League (CGL) is scheduled to kick off on September 26 at the Chandigarh Golf Club greens. This season promises even more excitement as 21 teams, comprising over 350 golfers, compete for top honors, one team more than the previous year. Teams with captivating names like Canam Raptors, Green Gators, Signature By KLV, Captain’s 18, and others will participate in this one-month long tournament, concluding on October 22. The 2022 title was clinched by Canam Raptors, who secured a 4-3 victory over Punjab Aces in the summit clash.

Cricket trials at Government school

The Government Model Senior Secondary School Cricket Academy in Sector 19 is set to conduct trials to select Under-16, Under-19, and senior trainees to represent the UT Cricket Association for the 2023-24 season. The trials will take place on Saturday, September 9, at 7 am, on the school grounds.

Janmashtami greetings from Governor

Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit extended warm greetings to the people of Punjab and Chandigarh on the occasion of Janmashtami. In his message, Governor Purohit highlighted the significance of Lord Krishna's life and teachings, emphasizing the values of well-being, virtue, and the path of "dharma" and "nishkam karma" as taught by Lord Krishna.
